This morning my husband rode bike with my son and daughter to their new school.  There is a fairly busy road they have to cross to get to the school.  My husband tells my son to "hit" the crosswalk button so they could get across safely.  My son looks at his dad and says "Dad, if I do that, I gotta run across the road, hit that button, run back, get on my bike and wait for the walkie man, and then ride across the street.  Then, I am gonna be late for school!!"

Urghhhh...never a dull moment:)

My son comes home from school yesterday and we told him that he needed to do his homework.  He went to the computer and goofed around for a little while.  After he gets up and puts his paper in his book bag, we ask him to go and get it so we can review it (since he is always looking for the easy way out).

His question asked how many gold medals has Great Britain won in Table Tennis.  He answered 8.  My husband and I looked around and something just did not seem right.  Thank goodness we review his homework.  You want to know why?  Great Britain does not even have a team participating in table tennis.

Oh lawd, it is going to be a long school year:)

Trying to get my son to clean his room is about as painful as having teeth pulled at the dentist.  On Saturday, I asked him if he had cleaned his room "spotless."  He stated that it was not exactly spotless, however, the dirty piles are now gone!  Not sure what the meaning of that statement was, but it appears that he just moved the piles of stuff from one location to another.  So technically, the dirty spots were now clean...Hmmmm!!

We were sitting at lunch today having pizza and my son heard a conversation at the table behind us.  The mother was telling her son about the return of Christ.  My son looked at me and told me that he did understand all of what she was talking about.  So, I attempted, in a simple way, to tell him about the basics of the revelation.  I told him that I could not wait to be called to heaven and float on whipped cream clouds and eat ice cream sundaes all day long.  He looked at me as serious as he could and said "they don't have dairy products in heaven."  Ya know, you can't make this stuff up...Love that kid.
This morning I made breakfast for my son and I since my daughter was playing in a tennis tournament.  I asked my son to make the toast and put the jam on the table.  He proceeded to take out one jar of jam at a time and close the refrigerator each time he got one out and reopen it to get another jar.  This occurred five times as he retrieved 3 jars of grape jam and 2 jars of strawberry jam.

After we finished eating, I asked him to put the jam back into the fridge and guess what happened?  He put each jar of jam back into the fridge one jar at a time.  And, of course, he had to open and close the refrigerator each and every time...Whew, I am exhausted for watching my son retrieve and return the jam!!  Wonder what the rest of the day holds in store for me.
